Route Technologies is a South African technology company. We design, build and run RouteClub, an app that lets people making the same long distance trip share a ride, and we build software and give technology advice to other businesses.
About
Built in South Africa, for South African roads.
RouteClub connects drivers making long distance trips, privately or as a transport business, with riders going the same way. We started with the corridor between Limpopo and Gauteng.
Drivers publish their trips and set a price for each journey. Riders book a seat and pay the fare to the driver directly. Route Technologies runs the platform that brings them together.
How we work
Four commitments we build around.
Honest pricing
RouteClub shows its fees in the app before anyone pays, and the fare for a journey goes to the driver. We never collect it.
Verified people
Riders and drivers verify their identity before they book or drive.
Privacy by default
We collect what the service needs to work. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising, and this website sets no cookies.
Your data, your decision
Anyone can delete their RouteClub account in the app or by email, and their personal details go with it, apart from records the law requires us to keep.

Drivers who are already travelling offer their empty seats, and riders going the same way book one. RouteClub charges a booking fee per seat and a posting fee per trip, and shows both before you pay.
